Dr Woods completed his Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) at the University of Notre Dame, Sydney, in 2011. Dr Woods completed his immediate post-graduate training within the local Hunter New England Health district. He then finished his formal training in anaesthesia with the awarding of the Joint Consultative Committee Certificate of Anaesthesia (JCCA) in 2014. In addition to working in general practice, Dr Woods is a Visiting Medical Officer at Singleton District Hospital and provides anaesthetic services at Muswellbrook District Hospital and Scott Memorial Hospital in Scone

Dr Rob Paterson is a medical oncologist with Hunter New England Health and the director of the Medical Oncology Service at Maitland Private Hospital. Completing oncology training in 2015, he worked as a fellow with Breast Cancer Trials until 2018. He is a general oncologist with research interest in breastl Lung and GI cancers. He has a passion for improving oncology service provision.

  • A/Prof Malcolm Hogg

A/Prof Malcolm Hogg is a Past-President of the Australian Pain Society and current board member of Pain Australia. He has advised on the development of National Strategic Action Plan for Pain Management and contributed to the development of the National Pain Service directory. Current Victorian activity includes membership on government committees regarding opioid monitoring (Safescript) and in the development of models of care for pain services.

At Royal Melbourne Hospital, A/Prof Malcolm Hogg supervises a co-ordinated range of services, linking inpatient acute and interventional pain management with out-patient multidisciplinary services, which includes management strategies for chronic cancer and non-cancer pain and telehealth linked support to clinicians in western Victoria. Research activity includes early identification and management of people with acute pain at risk of developing chronic disabling pain, opioid and paracetamol pharmacology, and the use of ketamine to reduce persistent pain

  • Dr Erica Cameron-Taylor

    Speaker

Dr Cameron-Taylor completed her medical degree at the University of Newcastle and completed rural General Practice training. She subsequently undertook advanced training in Palliative Medicine through the Royal Australasian College of Physicians. For the last seven years she has worked as a staff specialist in the Department of Palliative Care at Calvary Mater Newcastle and has a conjoint appointment at the University of Newcastle. Erica also provides specialist palliative care to patients at Lake Macquarie and Warners Bay Private Hospitals.
