TELEHEALTH IN RESIDENTIAL AGED CARE HOMES (RACHs) CLINCIAL EDUCATION IN PERSON WORKSHOP FOR GP'S AND RACH STAFF

Join Adelaide PHN’s upcoming telehealth education workshop to learn how to utilise telehealth to improve access to healthcare services for older people in residential aged care homes.

Attendees will learn how telehealth can be effectively applied to enhance quality care for older people in residential care. You'll gain valuable insights into the various virtual care models possible and their practical applications.

Through the engaging presentations and case studies delivered by experts in the field, you'll learn how to safely implement telehealth in your practice.

The workshop will cover:

• Considerations for determining the appropriateness of telehealth to resident/practice
• Cultural awareness (e.g., particular sensitivities about personal images and the recording of personal images)
• Clinical scenarios suitable for telehealth consultations with case studies applicable to the Residential Aged Care setting
• GP standards and government legislation concerning consent, patient privacy and rights to confidentiality.
• Actions and protocols to be taken before, during and post telehealth consultation
• RACH Afterhours planning
• Clinical and Corporate governance for Telehealth consultations(roles and responsibilities)

Participants will also be provided with resources for self-paced planning and learning post
workshop.

Rates of syphilis continue to rise in South Australia. While syphilis is preventable, when left untreated it can lead to serious health complications. Health professionals play an essential role in encouraging the screening, testing and treatment of syphilis. Presented by SHINE SA GP, Dr Nicola Chynoweth, this forum will discuss the latest information on syphilis and its implications for South Australian health professionals. This session will cover:
• Signs and symptoms of syphilis
• Syphilis testing, and treatment
• How to interpret syphilis results
• Understanding priority populations in syphilis screening.

This event explores the management of complex wounds and complex patients and uses a unified approach for diagnosis and management.
Using the H.E.I.D.I. mnemonic provides a simple assessment tool and stands for History, Examination, Investigations, Diagnosis and Implementation of a management plan.

Our expert panel of speakers will guide you through the process and then work together to explore the diagnosis and management plan. The scene will be set with a complex patient scenario and will highlight wound management in a multidisciplinary environment.
