About this event

This is an interactive and hands-on workshop that aims to provide GPs with an understanding of the pathway for managing work-related hip and knee injuries. The education session places emphasis on injury assessment, management pathways to prevent the transition from acute to chronic injury, investigations (when, why and what to order), and referral pathways.

Learning outcomes:

  • Outline the assessment and investigations used in the identification and diagnosis of hip and knee injuries.
  • Explain the systematic approach to the management and rehabilitation of a patient with hip or knee injury.
  • Devise a plan to manage patient barriers to returning to work after a hip or knee injury.
  • Develop a plan to achieve the safe, sustainable return to work of a patient with hip or knee injury.
  • Validate the importance of the work capacity certificate
