Meningococcal B Carriage Study Information Sheet

B Part of It is a study taking place within SA high schools aiming to find out more about how Meningococcal B disease is spread and the benefits of vaccinating against it.  The study will show if the Meningococcal B vaccine (Bexsero) can protect teenagers, as well as providing protection for the community. Click above to download the information sheet

First of its Kind Unit to Help Keep Children with Chronic Disease Out of Hospital

A General Practice Liaison Unit (GPLU) has been established at the Women’s and Children’s Hospital to improve the coordination of care for hundreds of South Australian children struggling with chronic conditions. The unit aims to reduce the need for SA children with chronic conditions like Type 1 Diabetes and Asthma to visit hospital.

New Consumer App for My Health Record Users

Your patients' access to their My Health Record just got easier! A mobile app has just launched which allows consumers to access to their record via their iPad, iPhone or Android device.

Changes to Delivery of Home Care Package Services

Changes to the way Home Care Package services are delivered will commence on February 27, 2017. The changes include streamlined processes for becoming an approved provider and the opportunity for providers to expand their businesses to meet local demand and consumer expectations without geographical limitations.

My Health Record Stats are on the Up!

Well done to all the practices and Primary Health Care providers in the Adelaide PHN region for their tremendous efforts and achievements in registering patients, interacting with, and uploading to the National My Health Record.

We have seen a steady growth over the past 3 Practice Incentive Program (PIP) quarters with over 17,201 Shared Health Summaries being uploaded, 1,736 Event Summaries uploaded, 18,776 Assisted Registrations performed and 5,860 hospital Discharge summaries uploaded.

Get Involved in the Interdisciplinary Health Practitioner Network (IHPN)

Adelaide PHN is proud to partner with the Interdisciplinary Health Practitioner Network (IHPN), a pilot project aiming to establish practitioner networks, each with a focus on multimorbidity. The network will meet up to four times a year to support local practitioners from different disciplines to collaborate and network, develop relationships, improve referral pathways and, ultimately, patient outcomes. Voluntary Blood Testing Program for PFAS

The Australian Government is providing access to a free blood test for Per- and Poly-fluoroalkyl Substances (PFAS) for people who currently live/work, or who have previously lived or worked in Williamtown, NSW or Oakey, QLD as there is potential for these individuals to have been exposed to PFAS.  For more info on the program and processes for accessing blood testing on behalf of an eligible patient please download this information sheet or visit here

PenCS Update for Zedmed Users: Utilisation of Topbar

The integration between Topbar and Zedmed is still in trial phases, however the next release of Zedmed, version 26, will include an update to the Zedmed ‘Firebird’ database. Practices that update to this version will then be in a position to trial Topbar which has seen significant improvements in performance when tested internally.
