Dear Primary Health Care Provider,
Adelaide PHN have been advocating strongly for general practice and primary health care providers since the release of the new Direction (under the Emergency Management Act No 14) which came into affect at 12:01am Tuesday 1 Dec.
Following our email to providers yesterday, we have been responding to many enquiries and concerns from local health services. We are aware that there is a lot of information (and misinformation) circulating about the new Direction and, with a commitment to add value (not spam) to your inbox, we will keep this update brief.
Below you will find a summary of the key information we've verified with SA Health:
-
All primary health care providers, including general practice MUST submit an online COVID Safety Plan
-
The submission/approval of this plan will trigger a QR code for your practice/service to display
-
In the meantime you MUST keep a paper register of patients/clients every day (via the official contact tracing record of attendance form linked below) - your practice records will NOT be enough
-
SA Health have provided a 72 hour grace period to allow practices to be compliant - this ends at 12:01am on Friday 4 Dec
-
SA Health will be changing their communication to the public to ensure clearer messaging - individuals are responsible to ensure that they wear a single use surgical mask on attendance at any health service
-
All health care providers are also required to wear a single use surgical mask - (they can be used for 4 hours) and then must be changed
-
SA Health is currently working on a plan to supply masks to community and potentially to health services
-
Adelaide PHN can provide you with an emergency supply (for provider use) until you are able to access your own supply of surgical masks for your staff
